Intex Easy Set Pools

10  Frequently Asked Questions About Intex Easy Set Pools

intex easy set swimming pool

1.)How much air should be used to inflate the top ring?

Inflate the pool until the top ring becomes round in shape and firm to the touch. An over inflated ring heated by the sun may burst or lead to leaks in the seam.

2.) Can I set the pool up on concrete?

Yes, but a ground cloth is highly recommended. Do not drag the liner across the concrete, as abrasions will cause holes. Also the surface must be smooth, level, and stable.

3.) What other surfaces can be safely used to set up my Intex Easy Set Pool?

Easy Set Pools can be set up on grass, compacted dirt, or pavement that is completely smooth, level, and stable. A ground cloth or tarp is recommended. The pool should NOT be set up on sand or muddy ground that could possibly shift. It is also NOT recommended to be set up on wooden decks.

4.) What is the steepest slope that I am able to set up my pool on?

For best results the surface should be perfectly level. Pay close attention to the pool’s stability and levelness in the early stages of filling. If after about an inch of water has accumulated, and the water is not spreading out evenly, or the pool appears to be bulging to one side, stop filling the pool, drain the water, and select a new level site. If the pool is set up on a slope, the pool will be lopsided and could collapse.

5.) How do I drain my Intex Easy Set Pool?

First remove the cap from the drain valve on the outside of the pool wall. Next attach the female end of the hose to the hose adapter. Place the other end of the hose in an area where the water can be safely drained. Screw the hose adapter to the drain valve. Note: water will start to drain immediately. Disconnect the hose adapter when finished. Replace the drain plug on the inside of the pool for storage. Replace the drain cap on the outside of the pool. Be sure the pool liner is completely dry before long term storage.

6.) What would cause the Pool to be lopsided?

The base or bottom of the pool is not laid out flat (without wrinkles). The pool liner must extend evenly around the outside of the inflatable ring when the pool is filled with water, otherwise the ground is not 100% level.

7.) How high can I fill the pool?

Fill the pool to the bottom of the inflatable ring. Do Not Overfill. This may cause the pool walls to become unstable and possibly result in injury or property damage from the water flowing over the pool while in use.

8.) Can grass grow through the ground cloth and / or pool liner?

Yes, in some cases certain types of hardy grass such as Bermuda or St. Augustine can grow through the liner. Before setting up your pool, it is recommended that you clear the area of these types of hardy grasses. Intex will not be held responsible for grasses that may grow through the ground cloth and / or pool liner, as this is not a manufacturing defect. A ground cloth or tarp may be helpful in preventing this from occurring.

9.) What is needed to prepare a site for the pool?

A level, stable surface is needed and all sharp objects must be removed. A ground cloth or tarp should be placed under the pool prior to setting it up. If a site does in fact have hardy types of grass such as St. Augustine or Bermuda it is recommended to remove these grasses before initial set up.

10.) How do I protect the pool from damaging grass or fungi that develops on the concrete?

It is not possible to prevent grass or lawn damage from growing under your Intex Swimming Pools. Keep this in mind when selecting your site for set up. Keep the grass and concrete as dry as possible by mopping up excess splashed water after each use to minimize fungal growth.

Swimming Pool Pumps

Swimming Pool Pumps – Sizing

swimming pool heat pumps

swimming pool heat pumps

When replacing a swimming pool pump motor a real constraint is the size of your filter system and the pipes. There’s no way to know if the builder sized the pool pump properly from the beginning. Oversized swimming pool pumps can consume lots of electricity needlessly; too-small pumps won’t keep your water as sparkling as it should be.

  • If you need to change pump sizes

First, you want a pump that can circulate all the water in the pool through the filters within 8 – 12 hours. A 2 inch pipe has roughly a 73 GPM maximum flow. Pool filter manufacturers have performance data charts that will give you the flow rating for specific filter models.

You can see why a swimming pool pump motor that’s too powerful can strain and damage your system, wasting electricity in the process; while an undersized pump will never fully clean your pool.

Swimming pool pumps for above-ground pools are different than those for in-ground pools. You may hear terms like “low head pump”, “high head pump”; or “feet of head”. Technically, feet of head is a measure of the swimming pool pump motor’s energy output. Above-ground pools generally use low-head pumps. Lower swimming pool energy consumption is environmentally friendly. There are flow rate charts, available from the swimming pool pump manufacturers and supply houses, that can help you choose the properly rated pump. Hayward pool pumps, Pentair pumps, Sta-Rite and Jandy are well-known and respected brands for the residential market.

executive summary about Solar Pool Heaters By Peter Cox

If you own a swimming pool and are interested in both saving money and saving the planet then solar pool heaters are for you!

Heating an outdoor pool is a very expensive business. The water in it will heat up, becoming warm to the touch, and the solar panels of a solar pool heater work in very much the same way.

The solar panels used in solar pool heaters are, therefore, flat panels made up of many small tubes through which the water your pool is passed. Look for solar panels with high thermal performance ratings. Be sure also to get the right size of solar panel for your pool. Too small a panel for too big a pool will leave you splashing about in cold water! Two 2′ by 20′ panels will heat a 21′ above ground pool so if you swimming pool is bigger than 21′ you will need to consider additional panels.

Once installed though you will be able to enjoy swimming in a warm pool from early spring until late fall thanks to your solar pool heater.

  • What is the Real Solar Pool Heaters Performance

executive summary about Solar Pool Heaters By Benjamin Robert Ehinger

Are you thinking about using a solar pool heater to get your pool up to temperature? What is the real solar pool heaters performance? First, let us go over what exactly a solar pool heater is and what the best choices are for this type of heater. A solar heater for a pool is basically one that uses the sun to heat the water in your pool. You will need some pvc piping, a shut off valve, a pump, and a large amount of black tubing. Our pool went from the low 70s with not heater to the mid 80s with our solar heater.
